Schaeffler Ultra Precision Drives offers you precision gearboxes as sub-assemblies in solid and hollow shaft design, which as low-backlash precision planetary gearboxes with a torsional backlash of ≤ 0.1 arc-min are regarded as virtually backlash-free. And thanks to our patented solution for wear compensation, we ensure that the torsional backlash does not change over the entire lifespan.

Precise, compact, and readily integrated: PSC sub-assemblies

Our planetary gearboxes are characterized by high output, acceleration, and emergency stop torques that make the application safer. A tremendous tilting and torsional rigidity combined with the very low torsional backlash of less than 0.1 arc minutes enable highly accurate positioning.
In highly automated production facilities, 24/7 operation is now standard, so it is crucial for components to have a long service life.

Our gear units and the lubricants used achieve life spans of 20,000 hours and more. Due to the high efficiency of the precision planetary gearboxes with front-mounted spur gear stage of more than 90%, the temperature in the gearbox remains constant at a particularly low level. At the same time, the PSC sub-assemblies run extremely quietly.

Properties

PSC sub-assemblies offer you maximum flexibility when integrating our products into your housing. We offer gearbox sub-assemblies in solid shaft (PSC-V-E) and hollow shaft (PSC-H-E) designs. Hollow shafts of up to 89 mm diameter allow data or supply lines to be routed through them. The performance characteristics are identical to those of the PSC gear units: a nominal torque range of 400 to 4,500 Nm, outside diameter of 155 to 405 mm, and gear ratios of 35 to 200.

Areas of Application

One of the key areas of use for PSC sub-assemblies is robotics. Other applications are in industrial automation, machine tools, printing and packaging machines, rotary tables, and medical technology.
